The Bailiff’s Feast

The Bailiff’s Feast
Bailiffs were always stern tax collectors and often greedily took a lot for themselves. When a bailiff had a feast the finest food was brought out on the tables; richly flavoured with imported spices and herbs.
More dishes with fish, bird and meat, dried fruit which has been boiled in wine and honey, fresh grapes for the cheese, olives and more is placed on the serving dishes. As a dessert there is pie made from berries served with whipped cream and sweets from the orient.
